Privacy Policy
Effective August 21, 2026. This is the privacy notice for Pixcel. The contract for the work itself is the Terms of Service (including billing and cancellations).
1. Who is responsible
Pixcel is the controller of personal information collected through this site and through our booking and billing tools. We are a small New York shop. We do not sell personal information.
2. Information we collect
You give us name, email, phone, ZIP, appointment notes, domain names, account passwords you create on this site, and payment details (processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers). We collect IP address, browser, pages viewed, and form metadata (including agreement version, time, and user agent when you sign). If you book on-site work we collect distance derived from ZIP. If you buy hosting we collect site hostnames, IPs, and snapshot metadata. During remote IT we may see whatever is on your screen, including files, emails, and messages you leave visible. We do not want your passwords: you type them. Do not paste secrets into booking notes.
3. Why we use it
To run the shop: accounts, calendars, estimates, invoices, hosting, backups, support, security, fraud and chargeback prevention, legal compliance, and to improve the site. Signed agreements are kept so both of us can prove what was accepted. We may email you about a booking, an invoice, a box that is down, or a change to terms that affects you. We do not use session content from TeamViewer for marketing.
4. Sharing
We share information with processors who help us operate: Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (domains and DNS when you buy a name), TeamViewer (the session you join), email and infrastructure providers, and professional advisors under confidentiality. We share if the law requires it, or to protect Pixcel, you, or others from harm. We do not sell lists. A future sale of the shop could include customer records as an asset; this policy would still apply until you are told otherwise.
5. Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, keep a cart, and store a CSRF token. That is how the site works. We do not run a third-party advertising pixel on this site today. If that changes, we will update this policy.
6. Retention
Account, order, appointment, and signed-agreement records are kept for as long as we need them to run the business, tax, and legal duties — typically years, not days. Hosting snapshots follow the plan you buy (30-day rolling unless you add a vault) and may be deleted when the box is terminated. Screen-sharing is live; we do not keep a standing recording of TeamViewer unless we tell you in that session that we are recording a diagnostic.
7. Security
We use HTTPS on the public site when it is configured, hashed passwords, and access limited to people who need it. No method is perfect. You are responsible for the physical and network security of machines we are asked to touch, and for who is in the room during on-site or remote work.
8. Children
The services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Hosting and sites you run are your content: you must not use a Pixcel box in a way that violates child-protection law.
9. Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of account information by writing us, subject to records we must keep (invoices, signed agreements, fraud). You may close an account; hosting and domains then follow the Refund Policy and registrar rules. New York residents have the rights available under applicable New York law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right that the law gives you.
10. International
We operate in the United States. If you contact us from elsewhere, you understand information is processed in the US.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy. The date at the top is the current version. Questions: contact form.
